Nominate your bunny for lottery Easter draw
Rabbit owners from Eden could hop off with a prize if they nominate their pet to preside over the Pride in Penrith Lottery Easter draw.
“We’re on the hunt for an Easter bunny to be the guest of honour at our £500 special draw,” said the lottery’s chairman, Rob Udale. “The first rabbit pulled out of the hat will win a tasty treat as a thank-you from us, and there’s an Easter egg for the owner as well.”
A family of floppy-eared rabbits bounced into Penrith on Monday 16 March to help the lottery launch its bunny appeal. Blondie and her six bunnies were brought along by breeder Michael Dixon from Appleby, who supplies floppy-eared rabbits for Arcade Pet Stores in Devonshire Arcade, Penrith.
“Blondie was happy to help the lottery in its quest for an Easter bunny and we hope that lots of local rabbits will join in,” Michael said.
Owners who live within 15 miles of Penrith can nominate their rabbit by emailing its name and a photo to marketing@prideinpenrith.co.uk by 12pm on Friday 3 April.
“We’ll also share photos of the nominated rabbits on Facebook and Twitter, to help spread the Easter cheer, and then we’ll do the special draw on Wednesday 8 April,” Rob said.
“Our Easter special draw is one of several we hold each year in addition to our normal weekly lottery, giving our members extra chances to win,” Rob said.
All the profits from the lottery’s draws are given out as grants to local organisations and projects working for the good of the community in Penrith and the wider area.
