Jackpot reaches an all time high!
The Pride in Penrith Lottery Jackpot, which is drawn each Wednesday has reached an all time high since launching in July 2010. The Jackpot currently stands at a whopping £3,600.
Since launching, the jackpot has only been won twice before, with the biggest prize of £3,200 given earlier this year. The jackpot starts at £500 and the Lottery is drawn each week until a winner is found. There are many £20 winners each week and to date the Pride in Penrith Lottery has given out over £3,000 in smaller prizes.
The Pride in Penrith Lottery was set up and run by volunteers with the objective of improving the town, ensuring local events continue to take place, helping local good causes and ensuring the community spirit of Penrith remains as it faces changes. The Lottery gives local people the opportunity to contribute to the town's well being, as all the money they place on the Lottery goes back into the community…as well as making some people that little bit wealthier!
In the past year, the Pride in Penrith Lottery has donated over £7,000 to good causes and still have over £20,000 in the “Community pot” for other groups to come forward and claim. Good causes the Lottery has helped in the past year include Hospice at Home, Penrith in Bloom, Sunbeam Music Trust, Pony Club, Beacon Wheelers, Carleton Park Development, The Halloween Festival, Vintage Penrith and Christmas lights events.
There is still time to enter the Pride in Penrith Lottery to be in with the chance of winning this fantastic jackpot prize. To play the Lottery people can download a form online, or visit one of the sales agents in town to register. The current sales agents are Arragons Newsagents, The Corner Shop, Ullswater Road garage and Davidsons Garage. People will also soon be able to play online.
The Pride in Penrith Lottery is a not-for-profit organisation and is run by volunteers from the town who are all passionate about making a difference to the local area and raising money for good causes.
