Jackpot Joy for long-standing lottery member

In November 2021, after nearly a year without a big winner, our jackpot had climbed to the maximum which meant one of our members was guaranteed to win £5,000! After a short but exciting wait, the four numbers were randomly selected by our specialist software – a winner had been chosen!

Our administrator Georgina Stephenson said: “It’s a lovely thing to be able to call a winning member to tell them they’ve won such a large sum of money. After I’ve introduced myself, I always ask them if they’re sitting down before I tell them the good news!”

The winner of the jackpot didn’t wish to be identified, but it came as a total surprise to him, and he had no idea that the jackpot had hit its maximum. Georgina continued “The lucky winner was taken aback, but of course he was absolutely delighted! After delivering the good news, I had a good chat to him, and he explained that he’d been a member for over ten years and felt it was a good opportunity to give back to the local community”. Penrith Lottery Chairman, Richard Utting had the lovely job of presenting the cheque to the winning member, who said he would share it between his grandchildren.

For the current jackpot, see this page. It increases by £100 each week it goes un-won. Any member who matches four numbers scoops the jackpot, with those matching three numbers winning £20. Winners are automatically contacted, so members don’t need to check their numbers, although they are published here on our website and on our social media channels.
